Li Qi underwent 9 hours of dental treatment to rid her of a terrible infection that had invaded her lip, gum and palate. She now has a beautiful and healthy smile courtesy of HAND.

HAND operates in the Pihe County of Nujiang State in China’s YunnanProvince, south of Tibet and west of Burma. We have provided nine patients with life saving or life changing operations, as well as countless patients with the means to access medical care.

Our mission is provide health education in the area so that local minority people are able to do all they can to protect the health of themselves and their families. Wherever we can, we send patients who need treatment to hospital and fund their care.

We do this with minimal funds as all of our volunteers pay their own expenses

 

 

 

Ma XiaoLei underwent a life saving hysterectomy in which a large tumor was removed from her womb. The anemia which she suffered from has also stopped as a result. XiaoLei is now fully recovered, working her farm and looking after her two young children.

In October of 2007, 250 school children took part in hygiene lessons and were given bars of soap, shampoo, towels and toothbrushes. A further 723 students who we could not reach were supplied with the same products.
