In 2003 one of Guangdong’s top news programmes, “Face to Face” made a show that brought Qin’s story to an audience of 10 million. Many people got in contact with us after the programme was aired including one little girl Mei Yuan who showed us what the true spirit of charity can achieve.
Mei Yuan had wanted to commit suicide but changed her mind after reading Qin’s story. She has agreed to let us show “her letter” in the hope that it will make a difference to others. (See “Make a Difference”)
“Yang Cheng
Wan Bao”, the biggest evening newspaper in China’s third largest
city, Guangzhou ran a series of stories on Qin and her progress.
Each time it was published, Qin’s story made the front page.
中国南方城市发行量最大的报纸《羊城晚报》对救助丽琴的故事做了一系列的首页报道。
“Yang Cheng Wan Bao” depicts
Qin’s first welcome home party as she was discharged from
hospital. She stayed at Gareth’s home in Guangzhou for 3 months,
building up the strength for her return to Yunnan.
