Through carefully planned training we hope that our new health educators will be able to:
- Distinguish between people who need medical attention and those that don’t and then refer those who need help to real doctors for treatment HAND will pay for.
- Conduct hygiene classes in schools as well as promoting good hygiene amongst adults.
- Keep records of the health problems of families in the area.
- Educate people on the importance of a healthy diet.
- Explain the dangers of going to non qualified “doctors” and to let people know that HAND will pay for their treatment if they go to real hospitals.
- Build up support networks for families caring for mentally ill patients as well as those who need constant care.
