Due to a lack of education in the area, the importance of hygiene is not understood by many. Simple acts like washing hands, having a fixed spot, used by all to go to toilet and the absence of waste disposal, has led to the spread of illness, especially skin, intestinal and gynecological problems. |
The area that we serve, PiHe Village, is situated in Nujiang City, Fugong County, and consists of 9 administrative villages, with 35 village schools teaching a total of more than 1000 students. HAND’s volunteers, including international school teachers, health workers with medical knowledge and public servants go to regional primary and middle schools to teach hygiene classes and to provide toiletries. |
| 山区少数民族历史遗留下来的最不好的生活习惯就是缺乏卫生意识，不洗手、不洗澡、到处大小便、动物粪便遍地都非常容易导致疾病，特别是皮肤病、肠胃病、妇科疾病等。 |
“乐夫爱心诊所”为了帮助减少关于这方面求医的病人，我们坚持不懈地与自愿者们一起在当地中小学校开展卫生宣传教育活动。我们的自愿者有来自国际学校的学生和老师、懂医疗知识的医务人员、社会人士，他们准备资料、自制海报、购买卫生用品，背着沉重的背部，穿山过岭，来到甚至只有几个学生的穷乡僻壤的山寨小学校，为当地人讲解必要的卫生知识，并宣传“乐夫爱心诊所”。 |
| 我们服务的怒江州福贡县匹河乡有九个行政村35个自然村学校共1000多个学生，有的自然村要当地村民带领步行4到8个小时才能到达，我们的自愿者们通常要在当地留宿。虽然环境艰难、改变生活习惯更难，但是我们的努力正在起着积极的作用。我们的服务还会在匹河的基础上拓展到整个福贡县、乃至整个怒江州。 |
