Local run clinics are poorly equipped and staffed by health care workers with next to no training and access to powerful medicines. For 6 years, HAND acted as an alternative, providing free medical care administered by a local worker who had undergone a training programme specially designed to meet the needs of local people. We have also funded over 40 operations for people with no means to pay for their own treatment. This has enabled us to build up the trust of local government so that we can now enter into an exciting new partnership.

当地乡村医疗站缺乏基本医疗设备，乡村卫生员没有受过正规的医学培训。6年来， “乐夫爱心诊所”一直尽可能地对当地乡村卫生员提供针对当地居民病症的医疗知识培训，并为当地村民提供免费的医疗救助和适症药品。正是这个“救死扶伤”的口碑使当地政府对“乐夫诊所”建立了信任，从而使双方进入了正式的官方合作关系。

In July of 2009, HAND and the PiHe County Hospital signed a cooperation agreement that will enable us to make an even greater contribution to the area; working with government to train local doctors, creating village hygiene officer roles and attached education programmes as well as implementing the “HAND Home Garden Project”.

We continue to fund medical treatment wherever we can. He Qiu Yi for example underwent a fifth operation on her leg in November 2009 in Kunming. We are delighted to report that for the first time since she was three, she can walk unaided.
